Hamilton: Chicago Opening
Revel Space - Chicago, Illinois
“And when push comes to shove, I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love.”
- King George III, Hamilton: An American Musical
A Winter’s Ball
When working on a project like Hamilton: An American Musical, there is an unending amount of inspiration laid at your feet. For the show’s Chicago opening night, we gleaned vision for our design from the scene-stealing character of King George III and the Winter’s Ball in which Alexander first meets the sisters who would change his life forever.
In side-by-side spaces, we created two very different environments. The first: a ruby soaked bar and lounge in homage to our cheeky monarch, complete with his throne, ermine cape and crown where guests could take photos throughout the evening. The second: a warm and romantic revel where our sisters could meet “some rebels on a hot night” by the light of thousands of twinkling candles. And reigning over the entire celebration: our Hamilton star disco ball, but of course!
